Hi all!

I have a very large, heavy antique wood desk that I think is made of mahogany. I believe you might need to have double doors to get it into a room, as I am not sure if once you take the top off that the bottom would fit through a single door or not. Also, the desk is very solid and in good condition for its age. See the last 2 pictures for dimensions.

Everything that is under the role top part looks great including the green leather on the table part. The roll top does work though the movement is a bit stiff due to its age (not sure if soap would help that that or not). The fabric for the underpart of the rolltop does need some help. The previous owner from a number of years ago had glued 3 large canvas strips over the original fabric, but the glue is coming lose so it needs reattached for the rolltop to properly work again.

We did just soap all of the drawers and they work pretty well now. :-) Also, there are 2 pull out shelves with green cloth tops located right under the top part of the desk. The right one pulls out quite easily, however the left one only willingly pulls out about as far as it is in the picture. You can get the whole shelf out (they are pretty much the depth of the desk) if you pick the top of the desk up an inch or two.

Also, the last picture shows that it has a stamp which is located in the top right drawer. I cannot read all of it, but what I think most of it says is "Stephen Smith and; CO(?), Study and Office Furniture, ...Cornhill Boston" So, that's cool. :-) Very stylish piece!

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to come look at it. Also, check out our other listings for more furniture! Thank you for looking!
